French bread rolls
Soft and delicious bread roll goes well with a bowl of hot soup for a quick lunch, or even as a dinner roll along side any meal. This is easy to make the slash on top with cold butter is optional. You can rub the top of the rolls with butter immediately after they are out from the oven.
Ingredients for 8 rolls
170g bread flour
30g Graham flour
5g sugar
3g salt
4g unsalted butter
130ml warm water
4g instant yeast
cold butter for baking
Instructions
Combine the flour, sugar, salt, yeast and water in a bowl, mix well. Add the butter and continue to mix until it forms into a dough.
Knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Shape into a ball, cover and let it rise in at 35C for 40 minutes.
Punch down the dough and turn it onto the table. Divide into 8 equal portions, cover and rest for 10 minutes.
Shape each dough into a round ball and place on a baking tray. Let it rise for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 190C. Cut a slash on top of each dough with a sharp knife and put a small piece of cold butter in the opening. Bake 13-15 minutes until golden brown.
